Easter and Easter goes back to its roots in Waco, Texas
And looks to the Future with an eye on its past.
9/6/17; AUSTIN, Texas – Waco’s hot residential real estate market is about to get a new carrot for buyers, sellers, and realtors alike as iconic brand Easter and Easter, Realtors® - the innovative consumer-driven real estate company that enjoyed great success in the Waco and Austin areas in the 1980s and 1990s - is re-opening its doors in the city where it all started years ago! In 1949, Marie Easter began her career in the Real Estate business. Her two youngest sons, Bill and Bob continued that family business and founded Easter and Easter in 1982. In 2014, Patrick Easter (Bob’s youngest son) took over at the helm, and has since led Easter and Easter to expansive growth throughout Central Texas. Patrick Easter believes that now is the right time to expand the Waco market, and “go back to the family roots” in the hot Waco Real Estate market with a focus on integrity in both client and Realtor relationships.
The company didn’t have to look far to find the right fit to grow in the Waco market. Esther Easter, Patrick’s Cousin, will be heading up the efforts for the company. As a 4th generation of the family to sell real estate in the Waco area, Esther brings her own unique form of real estate expertise to the business.
Esther is a life-long Texan with a love for rural living and the great outdoors. She is always ready to serve her clients with their real estate needs. With the use of dynamic marketing/advertising strategies and cutting-edge technology, she will market properties for maximum exposure for sellers. She also works diligently with buyers seeking to invest in real estate and she has handled a variety of transactions across seven counties ranging from two to 1,300+ acres and includes residential, land and ranches, farms, riverfront and recreational properties.
Esther's perseverance, tenacity, and attention to detail through each transaction help to attain a positive experience for both sides. Her passion to best serve her clients has prompted her to pursue real estate education above that required for licensure. She has earned the Graduate REALTOR Institute (GRI) designation, completing in-depth training on the technical aspects of real estate. She also holds a Seller's Representative Specialist (SRS) designation conferred by the Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers and an Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR) designation conferred by the Real Estate Buyer's Agent Council.
In addition to being a full-time real estate professional, Esther is a business owner of more than 17 years. Her business provides consulting services to rural water supply corporations. She is involved in the day-to-day operations and attends monthly corporate board meetings. Her business affiliation with the water corporations furthers her knowledge and interest of providing water to rural areas.
Esther is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Texas Association of Realtors, Waco Association of Realtors, and the Arlington Board of Realtors.
Easter and Easter found success in the real estate market because consumers recognized the company was different. The company not only listened to the customer but they became a leading advocate for protecting consumers’ rights in real estate transactions. Bob Easter created the first seller’s disclosure form to be used in Texas and assisted a Legislator to pass a State Law that required residential transactions to have a disclosure. The Austin Board of Realtors® MLS members use parts of that first Seller’s Disclosure to this day.
With a renewed focus on the same areas where Easter and Easter made a name for itself the first time around, Patrick’s iteration of the company will continue to place value on the relationship it builds in the community. “I learned from a young age that relationships with people, be they clients or coworkers, are always more important than compensation,” says Patrick. “The typical real estate transaction lasts about 45 to 60 days, but the relationships we have with clients goes on for years. No sale is worth more than someone's integrity and experience,” he adds. Not just a notion relevant to clients, this approach applies to Easter and Easter’s Realtors® as well.
Esther and Patrick both have a clear vision for the future. Their goals are clear: to create a small team of experts fueled by honesty, openness and a desire to improve themselves and the environment they live and work in. Our core values will be the key to our success, rather than sales. He adds, “We will do the right thing, even if the company doesn't benefit from it,” says Patrick. “It may not be what most people would do – but we're not most people.”
Generations of Service - The History of Easter and Easter
It’s easy to say that Patrick Easter was born to work in real estate. His father and uncle founded Easter and Easter in the early 1980s, but that’s not where it all began. “I'm a third-generation Texan Realtor®,” Patrick proudly claims. It was his grandmother Marie who initially ventured into the industry in Waco, Texas in 1945. She found herself forging close, life-long connections with her clients and imparting the importance and reward of hard work on her sons Bob and Bill. The brothers followed suit, opening Easter and Easter, Realtors® in 1982, where Bob - with the help of his young sons - selected the bunnies for the Easter and Easter logo and used his 24-year tenure in the newspaper business to create unique and direct marketing pieces for the company. In 1986, Bob became the sole owner. Bob is also the Author of the 14 Home Selling Secrets and Home Buying Power, two real estate books written to help consumers understand their rights and how to save money when buying or selling properties and has appeared on over 350 radio shows.
During the company’s heyday, the signature pair of bunnies, poised as if they are about to hop right off the sign into real life, the Easter and Easter “For Sale” signs not only signified that a house was on the market, but that there was great care and expertise guiding the sale, which would often close in mere hours. “When I was in high school, my job was to drive around town putting up 'For Sale' signs on the houses that Easter and Easter had listed,” says Patrick of his first foray into the real estate business. “There were so many times that I would get back to the office from a three-hour route, only to find out that I had to turn around and go put a “Sold Mine” ™ sign in a yard where I had just ped off a 'For Sale' sign,” he remembers. “A cell phone could have been a very helpful tool at that time in my life!”
While Patrick Easter’s entire life has seemingly been touched by the real estate business, his career in the industry began when he received his license in January 1992 at the age of 18 - one of the youngest licensees in the state of Texas to do so. From 2001 to 2007, he owned and operated Easter Mortgage Solutions, where his knowledge of the real estate industry was especially valuable while working with Austin’s biggest builders offering a wide variety of financing designed for new home sales earned him the nick name “Dr. House” among his fellow loan officers and builder clients. Patrick then spent several years as a broker associate, then as a broker and partner at Avalar Lifestyle Austin Real Estate before deciding it was time to revive the family business and bring back the bunnies.
